Ever since Bugatti revealed the La Voiture Noire at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show on March, gear-heads can’t stop thinking about the mysterious buyer who acquired the Bugatti.

La Voiture Noire is considered to be the most expensive car ever created. Although the completion of the actual version of the Bugatti black beauty may still take two more years, somebody already secured the ownership of it for $18.6 million.

The body of the luxurious sports car is carbon-fiber-made and is somehow Chiron-based Divo alike. The details of the interior remain discreet. All that we know for now is that it can reach up to the maximum speed of 260 mph. It reportedly has an 8.0-liter turbocharged W16 engine. Whoever bought this seems to have a serious need for speed.

Bugatti executive Stephan Winkelman announced at the Geneva Motor Show that there will only manufacture one model of the La Voiture Noire. And to make the drama even more intense, they hosted a private auction exclusive for Bugatti’s top clients.

As per the mysterious buyer, there are several names popping out, like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and former Volkswagen Group leader, Ferdinand Piech. But many are saying that the football player, Cristiano Ronaldo is the one who made the home-run in the bidding war.
