Often, when people have too many options in front of them, they get confused. Sometimes they lean towards one thing, sometimes towards the other, and at times, they leave it altogether saying it’s too hard to find the correct one. Guess consumers are facing a similar situation with Toyota Camry.
Toyota Camry is among the customer’s favorite family sedans. But with its new model coming in 2022, people are baffled about which one they should buy. Should they get the 2021 model or wait for the upcoming one in 2022?
If you’re also facing the same dilemma, you’re in the right place ‘cuz today we’re comparing both the cars. So without further ado, let’s get started.
Features of 2021 Toyota Camry and 2022 Toyota Camry
The 2021 Toyota Camry isn’t very different from the Camry lineup. It includes minor changes like the base L model being eliminated and the LE model becoming the cheapest one. Plus, the sedan’s front end is revised, and new paint colors are added. On the tech side, a new 7.0 or 9.0-inch tablet-like touchscreen is added with enhanced driver assists, including technology that recognizes bicyclists and pedestrians faster.
On the battery and performance side, the model comes with a standard 203-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Among the whole range, the TRD model has received the best response. Its 301-hp V-6 and the eight-speed automatic transmission has extraordinarily won people’s hearts.
Coming to the 2022 Toyota Camry, it’s safe to say that the model is quite ahead of its time. It comes with a more sporty look and sleeker design. The base version offers a 7-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cloth upholstery, 17-inch alloy wheels with keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 4.2-inch display in the instrument panel.
Upper versions in the range come with a 9-inch touchscreen, moonroof, an upgraded stereo, navigation, wireless device charging, a head-up display, leather upholstery, remote start, and heated front and rear seats. The engine is a standard 203-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder version, but as you go up in the line, the power increases and so does the performance.
Coming to the price, the 2021 model started at $26,070 and the highest in the lineup, the TRD model, cost $33,285. But as per reports, the upcoming lineup would begin from $26,420 and its best model, XSE Hybrid, would come at $33,945.
Which is better, the 2021 Toyota Camry or 2022 Toyota Camry?
If you look closely, both models offer only minor changes. Except for the higher models, there’s not much improvement in the lineup, nor is it completely different from its previous versions. But until you see the 2022 lineup firsthand, it would be too quick to make any decision. So if you’re not on a budget and can spend some extra money, wait for the 2022 Camry and then see which is a better buy.
