Are Hydrogen-Powered Racing Cars The Future of Clean Mobility?

Ami Ciccone Dec 27, 2021

Everyone is ready and looking forward to a greener and more sustainable future but that can only be a reality if governments across the world and major corporations start changing their ways and adopting sustainable practices.

Some states have taken steps in order to improve the climate change situation, so have some industries, and one of these happens to be the automotive industry.

The Future of Vehicles

As the companies make the transition, it isn’t as smooth as one would hope. When it comes to electric vehicles, they might be much easier to maintain, they may be eco-friendly and far cheaper than the regular fuel-based vehicle but a large number of the majority argues about the performance of the electric vehicle and whether it would be as efficient as the fuel-based vehicles.

Secondly, another issue that comes into play is the infrastructure that is often overlooked. The roads, lanes, and highways that are made, cater to the requirements of a traditional car, will an electric vehicle be able to compete?

Motor Racing

Cars which are used for the sole purpose of transportation may be able to make a smooth transition but what about sports cars?

These racing motors are all about performance and speed. There is a solution for it as well. A report by Expleo titled The Road to Hydrogen Car concludes that 84% of the big names in the automotive industry are certain that hydrogen vehicles are the answer.

Why Hydrogen?

The concept of using hydrogen is not foreign. In fact, it is already a part of the automotive industry.

Hydrogen differs from fossil fuel as there is no emission that is because the energy is created by the chemical reaction that takes place, hence becoming one of the cleanest options. This simple mechanic can change the automotive industry’s work, but there is a long road to go.

Do you think hydrogen-powered cars can be a thing? We sure hope it works.
