Last Sunday, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. went to the ranch of Senator John McCain, where both of them recalled the memories of their friendship and also discussed the senators with whom they had worked. While giving an interview, Mr. Biden said that here is McCain who is in a precarious situation but still thinking about the country. During that meeting, they talked about a lot of different things like how their international reputation was damaged and they also talked about the need for the people to stand out and speak. Mr. McCain has a brain cancer.
However, no one is saying goodbye to Mr. McCain as he hates being sentimental, as said by one of his friends the former chief of staff Grant Woods. Above all, his friends and relatives are visiting him and telling him that how much they love him and they would do whatever it takes to make him breathe as far as possible.
The Republican senator John McCain insisted the former Democrats vise president not to give up the politics as Mr. Biden previously refused to take part in 2020 elections. Nowadays, John McCain is writing a book in which he regrets not selecting Joseph I. Lieberman as his mate in 2008. McCain had a rocky relationship with Donald Trump, therefore his intimates had informed the White House officials that his funeral will be for Vice President Mike Pence and not the president Trump. Some of his associates are saying that they want a ‘MaCain like’ person to fill up his seat. And the roster is pointed towards his wife Cindy.
John McCain who is now 81 years old is still struggling with the brain cancer diagnosed in last summer. Even though he is struggling with brain cancer, McCain is still attending all the conference calls and getting a prolonged physiotherapy session of 3 hours. Recently, McCain’s health has become a point of interest for the US politics. The health of McCain will decide the future of the Republicans in Senate. If McCain died or resigned from his seat before May, then a special election will be held to fill up the seat. But according to laws, if McCain remained on the seat till June, then a re-election will be conducted in 2020, and this scenario suits Republican better.
McCain’s seat has become a hot topic in the US Senate as the politicians are making jokes over this situation. Republicans joke that now Washington lawyers know the Arizona law better than all other lawyers of the United States. But Republicans are determined to give McCain the same ending they gave Edward M. Kennedy when he died due to brain cancer back in 2009.
Mr. McCain is now sitting on his deck and not attending any interviews due to poor health. Now McCain and his wife listen to the hummingbirds while sitting on their ranch, and that’s where he finds solace, said, Mr. Biden. Last month Mr. McCain was shifted to Phoenix’s Mayo Clinic as he suffered diverticulitis temporarily. Due to this reason, McCain was not able to meet his friends and colleagues including the new secretary of the state Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis. All these people came to Arizona to attend a meeting of foreign policy. However, Mr. Lieberman filled in the seat of McCain in that meeting and later Mr. Lieberman visited McCain in the hospital and informed him about the North Korean matter and also cracked some jokes with him.
While talking to the media, Mr. Lieberman said that McCain was doing O.K but he desperately needs to get out of the hospital. McCain’s closest friend further said that look at this man, who remained active throughout his life. Mr. McCain spent 2 years in Vietnam prison and was not used to live alone. All of his friends visited him on his deck. And those visits often end with McCain saying “I love you”. After switching his mobile from a flip-flop to iPhone, McCain downloaded Major League Baseball app and after that, he started following his basketball team Arizona Diamondbacks.
