Unfortunately, it would not be Kensington Palace as many had initially predicted. The royal pair, who have recently celebrated six months of marriage, are making some changes in their life now that they have a new member of the family on the way. Rumors have been flying here and there regarding what those changes exactly are, but thankfully Kensington Palace itself has put many of those to rest.
While it was initially thought that Harry and Meghan would become next door neighbors to Kate Middleton and Prince William by moving into Apartment 1 of the Palace, which would have provided them sufficient space to raise their family while also attending to their official duties, the Palace has put all such speculation at ease by revealing that the pair would actually be moving to Frogmore Cottage.

What’s So Special About Frogmore Cottage?
To understand why Frogmore Cottage holds a lot of significance for the newlyweds, we need to rewind the clock back to May 2018 when they tied the knot. The location of their wedding ceremony was Windsor Castle (more specifically, its grounds) and their wedding reception was held at Frogmore House which is located in the vicinity of the castle.
Frogmore Cottage is located right next to Frogmore House, and considering that the pair started off their journey as a married couple at this place it seems only fitting that they move in and start their family there as well.
Although the cottage has served as the residence of the royal staff up until recently, it is now being renovated and converted from a 5-unit property into one consolidated unit that would have 10 bedrooms, a gorgeous nursery for the coming angel, and also fitness facilities such as a gym and a yoga studio.
Why Are They Moving So Far?
Frogmore Cottage is only a few minutes away from their current residence Nottingham Cottage which is located in the grounds of Kensington Palace. Essentially they are not moving very far, but the need for such a move has fuelled further speculation into the reason why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are creating physical distance between themselves and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate.
Apparently, according to reports we have received from a reliable source, the two princes are thinking about dividing up their offices and establishing their own unique identities by undertaking distinct work. Prince Harry will still continue maintaining his office at Kensington Palace with Meghan, while Prince William and Kate would continue on with their work in the usual manner.
Increased Privacy
Let’s be honest, it is William and Kate who receive all the attention from the press considering the fact that Prince William would eventually become king one day. Living at a distance from them would allow Harry and Meghan much more freedom than they currently enjoy to move around and focus on their work without worrying about the press as much, and also give them the opportunity to invest their time and energies in charities of their choice.
Harry and Meghan have also made it known that they want to raise their soon-to-be-born child in a very normal setting so that he or she may get to experience a somewhat normal childhood. This essentially means that they want to keep their child away from the spotlight as much as possible, which may be quite difficult considering both William and Harry have remained surrounded by the press ever since they were little kids.
What Does the Future Hold?
It’s uncertain what kind of charities Meghan and Harry would support, and how their scope of work will differ from that of William and Kate. We wonder if this would give rise to some competition between the two pairs, however the possibility of that is unlikely.
Harry and Meghan understand the different status they hold within the royal family compared to William and Kate, so there are always bound to be differences between the way both pairs conduct business. However, we didn’t expect the roads to diverge so soon.
