When it comes to buying a new car, every buyer gets excited. He pays keen attention to the most minute details of the vehicle – the features on offer, the aesthetics, the utility – everything. But when that very same car starts asking for regular maintenance after a couple of months of usage, it starts to feel like a pesky chore. No point in denying it; we’ve all been there!

Now, if you’re one of those who avoid listening to your car needs, we’d like to let you in on a little secret – a little care goes a very long way! It not only increases the life of your vehicle, but also ensures excellent performance for a very long time. And of course, you can let go of worries about the vehicle breaking down suddenly.

So why not show your beloved four-wheeler a little love! If you want to hold onto your car for a long time, these tips might turn out to be extremely helpful.

#1 – Keep the exteriors clean

Keeping your car clean and tidy speaks a ton about your personality and the kind of relationship you have with your vehicle. Regular washing isn’t just to impress your neighbors and make your car look pretty.

In reality, mud and dirt buildup can lead to rusting and ruin, especially if you live in a highly polluted city or near the ocean where air tends to be salty. These circumstances can cause some severe damage to the exterior of your car, so ensure you don’t let mud accumulate.

#2 – Follow the rules

There’s nothing new about this tip, it’s something you might already be practicing. Following the speed limit and driving safely will avoid unnecessary wear and tear on your car.

Some people insist on zipping in and out of traffic just to reach the spotlight before everyone else. They think they’ll end up saving time, but honestly, does that even work? We mean, come on…how much time did you save by pulling off that stunt Adam?

#3 – Don’t skip on that routine maintenance

There are a bunch of extremely basic things you should remember if you want your car to keep running smoothly. For instance, make sure you change the oil after every 6000 miles.

Keep a regular check on the tire pressure and have them rotated on a regular basis. Replace the windshield wiper blades and air filters as and when required. Now keep in mind, the specifics for every car will be different; so it’s advised to go through the owner’s manual before applying all these maintenance procedures.

Just a reminder

Remember, just like any other article your car also requires a little bit of preventive care. And trust us, a little care every now and then can save you from making big dents in your wallet.

Make sure your car runs smoothly and if you’re sensing even a minute resistance, it’s time to get that beast into servicing. Small repairs are better than leading it to bigger problems that might arise going down the road.

So, be thoughtful and take care of your car as if it’s a little baby. If everything goes right, maybe you can pass it down to your kids one day!
