Being a member of the royal family is such an honor, although it also has its downsides. You’ll be pressured to follow your ancestor’s legacy, go on a royal mission at a very young age, and get very minimal privacy. Just like the superheroes, their power comes with great responsibility as well.
And when the royal family takes a break from all their missions and engagements, a quiet time with their loved ones is the priority. Unlike most of the Hollywood celebrities, who host a splendid party, the royals, particularly the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, prefer an intimate island vacation.
Prince George’s Birthday Getaway
The family of five flew to an exclusive island in the Caribbean to celebrate Prince George’s birthday.
He also spent his special day on his family’s favorite retreat last year. Prince William and Kate Middleton love vacationing on the Caribbean island because of the privacy it offers. They can enjoy watching the sunset, running on the shore, and playing with their three kids without any disturbances.
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Favorite HolidayVenue
There is no doubt that the island holds a very special place in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s hearts. Aside from Prince George’s consecutive birthdays, they also spent quality time with Kate’s biological family. She took her parents Michael and Carole Middleton, together with her brother and sister, Pippa and James on a royal getaway.
The island is called Mustique, and they implanted a no-fly zone in the area to ensure the guests’ solitude. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge felt like regular people playing tennis, scuba diving, and snorkeling during one of their stays at the five-star Cotton House resort. Other than that, the royals relished over glasses of cocktails and delicious island cuisine.
The royal couple is set to have their long day-off from royal duties this month and the next. Right after they attended the Wimbledon finals, they immediately jetted away to begin their summer vacay with the birthday celebrant, Prince George, and his two other siblings, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
King’s Cup
Prince William and Kate Middleton will go back to work in September. However, on August 9, 2019, they will have to put away their bikinis and board shorts first to host The King’s Cup sailing regatta in Cowes.
Both of them are one of the event’s main sponsors, and with their sailing backgrounds, they are the perfect royal representatives.
The royal family has been awarding the victorious team since 1920, so as much as they love to have their vacation interrupted, they would have to attend one more royal duty first before going back to the island life.
